Battery Backup Systems
Battery-backup Systems for Year-round Power Requirements and Emergencies
A common misconception about strictly grid-tied solar arrays is that they still produce electricity when the utility grid goes down. They do not. In a power outage, your solar system disconnects from the grid so that utility workers are not harmed from the solar electricity generation. But with a hybrid grid-tied / battery backup solar array you ensure reliable power backup and also can stay connected to the grid.
When power outages strike due to severe weather or unreliable service, don’t be left in the dark! Choose one of Global Green Energy Corp.’s custom-designed small off-grid solar panel systems for the ultimate in reliable, clean power—so when the grid goes down, you don’t!
Built to withstand even Western Washington’s most challenging winter weather, these battery systems are designed to give you an uninterrupted power supply for up to 3 to 5 days, depending on the size of the system. As the batteries are depleted of energy, a small number of solar panels charge the batteries with 100% renewable energy. An optional fossil fuel generator can be used for extended outages with no sunshine to charge the batteries alongside the solar panels.
Conservatively designed with small 120-volt energy demands in mind, each system can power from 1,000 watt-hours to 2,100 watt-hours each day to run small household appliances and devices. A typical critical load profile looks like this:
- 1,000 watt-hours per day = (3) 18w lights, laptop, small refrigerator, clock, coffee maker, small tv and dvd player
GGEC is now installing grid-tied battery backup and off-grid systems manufactured by Outback Power.
